Opt Out Types

  • Simple: When organizations enable this option, customers who unsubscribe will be unsubscribed from all communication, be it bulk messages or transaction messages.  
  • Preferential: When organizations enable this option, customers have the option to opt out from the type of messages they want to unsubscribe from. 

Configuring Email Opt Out Settings

  1. In the Settings page, click Subscription Settings and then click Opt Out Settings.

The Opt Out Settings page displays the Email tab by default. If the page is already configured, click the Edit button.

  1. In the Opt Out Type box, click the Edit icon and select your option.
  2. If you select Simple as the Opt Out type, the reasons for unsubscribing from the list appear. Edit the default template or upload your pre-designed HTML file for a new list of reasons.
  3. To test the email, click Preview and Test.

The Previewing and Testing Email screen appears.

  1. Select a user to whom you want to send the test mail and click Add.
  2. After adding the users, click Send Test Mail.

After testing, close the Preview and Testing screen to return to the Opt Out Settings page.

  1. In the Opt Out Settings page, click Next.

The Confirmation Page/Mail appears.

  1. Click the Edit icon to add the name of the sender and the email ID from which the message has to be sent.
  2. In the Subject box, add the subject.
  3. Edit the confirmation message and click Save. This message is sent as an email after the customer clicks Unsubscribe from the confirmation email.
  4. If you select Preferential as the Opt Out Type, the options that customers want to unsubscribe from appear.
  1. You can test and preview the message by selecting the Preview and Test option.
  2. Click Next.

The Confirmation Page appears.

  1. Click the Edit icon to add the name of the sender and the email ID from which the message has to be sent.
  2. In the Subject box, add the subject.
  3. Edit the confirmation message and click Save. This message is sent as an email after the customer clicks Unsubscribe from the confirmation email.

Note: You can test both the email messages by clicking on Preview and Test button.

Configuring the SMS Opt Out Settings

  1. In the Opt Out Settings page, click the SMS tab.
  2. In the Unsubscribe field, select Missed Call or By Sending SMS.

Notes:

· When you select Missed Call, the customer has to give a missed call to unsubscribe to the marketing communication.

· When you select By Sending SMS, the customer has to send SMS to a number to unsubscribe from the marketing communication.

  1. In the Opt Out number, enter the number to which the customer has to give a missed call or send text.
  2. In the SMS Text, enter the text that the customer has to send.

Note: This option appears when you select By Sending SMS.

  1. In the Confirmation SMS box, add the subject and tags.
  2. To test the SMS, click Preview and Test.

The Preview and Test SMS screen appears.

 

  1. Select a user to whom you want to send the SMS and click Add.
  2. After adding the users, click Send Test Mail.

Close the Preview and Test screen to return to the Opt Out Settings page.

  1. Click Save.
